Foods I don’t eat anymore: Caesar salad. Too often they’re more like “Cheese-ar” salads, and even the hard cheeses are off my list. Oh, I’m sure I’ll indulge in a little of the old fromage when we traipse through Europe next year, but as a special treat to be enjoyed on its own, not as an ingredient.
Food I eat now: homemade fajita chicken
Steak and salmon: good.
Couscous and matzah: okay
Needless to say, the cake went undisturbed. I feel bad about wasting. I would feel much worse with it on my waist.
Elk burger. With avocado. Almost no fat in the meat, but tons of flavor.
Thank you, Deschutes brewery, for an amazing dinner in Portland.
I have been given permission to have a beer. A small beer.
I wind up drinking about 2/3.
And felt fat.
Drinking my lunch: a cup of fresh brewed drip coffee at Stumptown Roasters and a protein shake.
The protein-caffeine mix is my substitute for carbs.
My pre-sabbatical phases is over. The countdown is done.
Now the real journey begins.
